Partnering not Parenting ™ 12 Week Course

It’s finally here! We’re delighted to announce the launch of our new and expanded Partnering not Parenting™ course which will begin on May 3rd 2021.

 

Partnering not Parenting™ is the compassionate approach to help you support your child through their mental health issues by changing and challenging your behaviour. Devised by Suzanne Alderson when her daughter was depressed and suicidal, it has helped countless families to connect, heal and support their child to resilient recovery. 

The course takes place over 12 weeks and includes all you need to know to effectively ‘Partner’ your child when they have a mental health issue as well as keep your own sense of sanity and calm. 

It will help you understand, empathise and connect with your child and support you to come through this extraordinary experience in the best possible shape yourself and as a family. 

There are 12 weekly modules that are delivered to you by email and that include video, audio and worksheets. You’ll get to review the resources in your own time and will have access to the materials for as long as you need them. 

But the magic really happens when you connect with other parents facing similar challenges to you in our special Partnering not Parenting™ Facebook group. In previous cohorts, the group has been a source of continuous support and real friendship. (Many of our previous course attendees are still in touch daily!) You’ll be joined with those who start the course with you – so you’ll go through each week together and build special bonds and connections with others in similar situations. 

Each month Suzanne will join the group for a Live Q&A session to talk through the challenges you’re facing and celebrate the lessons you’re learning. She is on hand to answer questions in the group on an ad hoc basis.

  • How to move forward when you feel you’re stuck
  • Illness, Condition, Destiny? 
  • Practical Partnering - reminders on your power and what’s really important 
  • Final reflections
The partnering course has been so enlightening - it starts and ends with you ….. I didn’t expect that but it has helped me so much. even though my daughter is recovering it is so very useful & a life long skill as it applies to lots of ou relationships. I would highly recommend it.

About the Course Creator:

Suzanne Alderson founded the community and  charity Parenting Mental Health following her daughter became depressed, anxious and suicidal following a period of severe bullying. Suzanne decided that there wasn’t enough support, understanding or compassion for parents and that actually, they were an integral part of a child’s recovery from poor mental health. 

In 2018, Suzanne was recognised by Facebook for her fight to end generational mental illness. Suzanne is a trained mental health first aider, an ambassador of the mental health charity Kaleidoscope Plus Group and a regular speaker on mental health.
